For over 2000 years at Christmas time
We've proclaimed to all we know
Peace on earth and good will to man
Our sincere wishes we bestow.

But what I don't understand at all
Is why it never becomes so
Do we really mean the words?
Or are we just putting on a show?

All year long you must admit
We are selfish and unkind
We ignore the less fortunate
And don't pay them any mind.

So maybe we need to remember
Each and every day of the year
Peace on earth and good will to man
Is what the world needs to hear.

I think this salutation has become
The most elusive phrase ever.
For all the years of hoping it.
We still can't get it together.

Do you think man can ever learn? It doesn't seem like it though. Before GW came into power, it seemed like we were on the right course. Now all is lost and war is the 1st choice once again...
