I think very few of the admins even read in this forum and they would be the only ones interested in phpBB3 or even know what it is. Or any of the phpBB versions for that matter.

I think I better move it if you want it read by admins of other boards.

Personally, I think they've done a good job with version 3 going by the subscribed threads function as well as a few of the other standard essential functions needed. phpBB3 has a clean look to it too which is also modern looking.

I just hope they make a good portal to go with it

About time an opensource group did a proper job of making oftware that can be used to make a complete website for FREE! There's too many about that do half jobs.

Also, it would be good for them to only validate mods that don’t interfere with other mods. They can't go round then sunny

Ps they should make some kind of plug-in software like what punBB and Vbulletin use so it's easy to install hacks/mods etc. Much better than EasyMod. EasyMod saves a lot of time and is good for version 2 but with version 3 they should take it up a level banana

I'm going to switch to phpBB 3 when Zarath makes the shop/bank/cash mods for it headbang

There is no way that we will be updating to phpBB 3 in the near future. There are just too many MODs installed here, so "upgrading" would cost us a lot of functionality. I imagine that it will be at least a year after the phpBB 3 is officially released when most of the MODs here will be available for it. Even then, it would be a monumental task to start over and reinstall everything again...

Yeah, I know the main things they've changed loads is the ACP stuff. Like you can edit stuff from ACP rather having to edit files instead. So because of that loads of mods won't work. Also, they've changed from template tpl files to just html (I think that's right) would be a right nightmare trying to get phpbb2 mods working on phpbb3. would take forever to fight with them.

I think it will be good once they the final release comes out. And after a year there's bound to be loads of mods about and also by then version 3 should be bug free
