I posted this in phpbb forum, but thought I'd try here too.
Please shed some light, I've been looking in here for answers but not finding so maybe I can ask -
I want to edit my meta tags, do I do this in both styles, subsilver and safire?
I want to edit the tags but afraid to screw it up, so I edited what I want and inserted between xxx so you all can see what I want to add. I need to know precisely how to add these, do I delete anything? Like in the title, do I delete whats inbetween <> or just add my name with the text thats there?
Please look this code over, there are about 4 changes I want to add, please if you can, maybe write it as it should be so I can get an idea?

There are some experts here on what you should include in your Meta tags, so hopefully they will jump in and help with that if need be...
The meta tags should be added to the overall_header.tpl file for all of your supported templates. You can add the code right after the <head> tag in your overall_header.tpl files. You would not need to include the last <title> line listed in your example above since it is already included in the overall_header.tpl file...

Yeah having Meta tags is a must. I only know how to add them so there pulled from any page though (default).
You can do this by simply installing this mod http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=364320
there is a way of using separate meta tags for each of your forums main pages, which of course uses unique info for pages = helps better in rankings, etc. I've not had time to look into this yet though.
Installing the above mod would be a good start for though fishhead  |
