Hey guys

Ive installed easymod correctly in my opninion but when i try to install some mods i get this error

Critical Error:
Function Trace: main[1]->modio_prep[2]

FTP ERROR: login failed

OK logical it'll be the ftp fault , but i checked it like 1000 times and it must be correct.

Anyone can help me with this?

Hi DennisLembrechts.  Welcome to RCF.  Nightrider, our resident expert is off line right now and won't be back for several hours but maybe one of the other forum admins will be able to help you.  If not then Nightrider will the minute he logs in.   In the meantime make yourself at home and look around.

Hi DennisLembrechts.  Welcome to RCF.  banana

I am not all that great with helping when it comes to EM problems, but I did some research for you and I believe the problem is the password and sign-on that EM is trying to use to sign into your FTP account.

Check your EM info and see if they are correct. In your ACP, under "Mod Center" "Easymod settings" and check the info in their. The FTP username, FTP password, FTP server, and FTP port need to look exactly the same as when you set up your FTP program to sign onto your server. If it's not the sign on and password perhaps your server uses something else for the server besides localhost?

I'm sorry if you have already checked all of this, it's just what I came up with while searching for an answer for you.

I hope you enjoy yourself here!

Welcome to RCF DennisLembrechts!!!   Applause

What FTM and ~^Karen^~ posted should work.  Do you use an FTP application to access your site?  If so, you can copy and paste what you use for the username and password in your FTP application in EM Settings in your ACP MOD Center.  If that doesn't work, you can try changing localhost to your FTP server address and change the PHP FTP Extensions setting to No, then try again...

Let us know if any of this helps.  If not we can dig a bit deeper to try to figure it out...

Thx for all your replies but im affraid it didnt helped.

Then i tested setting and this is what came up
Your EasyMOD settings have been updated successfully. (EM password not updated)

Testing FTP access...
1) Logged in successfully
2) CD to EasyMOD path successfully
3) wrote to phpBB root successfully
4) FTP cache access checked successfully

So it should be fine.

BUT , i still get the error

Brick wall

Thx in advance

Ok, that doesn't make any sense to me.  If it tells you in EM Settings that it successfully connected to your FTP server, then it would be using the same information to log into your FTP Server when attempting to install a MOD.  Did you have to use the Cache option when you installed EM?  That's not an option that I have had to use when installing EM on more than 1 or 2 servers out of hundreds of them...

Try this.  In EM Settings, change the Writing option to server and the Moving option to copy.  Then see if you can install a MOD using EM...

It sounds like you still have the Writing method set to buffer & ftp.  Go back into EM Settings in your ACP MOD Center and make sure that the Writing method is set to server...
