Hello,
When I want to install any mod using EM, the first step goes just fine and when i choos next step i get a blak screen with only this on top EasyMOD - Automatic MOD Installer
beta (0.3.0)
Now, a friend of mine has managed to install (without EM) the ajax shoutboxmod and the download mod on my site but the link to the shoutbox is called "Chat" which is confusing for users of my board.
The download link is only available in 1 style of the 2 styles that i am offering an only in 1 language if the 2 available.
My website is http://www.guildwars.be and all of my members are dutch speaking. The site has also gwbbcode installed on it.
Can anyone help me with this please? I am a noob regarding php so sorry for that. I just want my site to be complete as this one :p
p.s. Nightrider, thx for the tip
regards, |

Hi Dha! Welcome to RCF.
I can't help with your problem but I wanted to acknowledge your post and tell you that Nightrider is off line right now and won't be back for several hours. However, soon as he logs in I'm sure he will respond to your question.

Welcome to RCF Dha!!!
I'm feeling pretty rough today, so please bear with me. I'm sorry my response has been so slow...
Who is your host? What are the file permissions allowed/required by your host? If you have modified all the permissions and aren't sure what the default settings would be, simply upload a file and check its permissions. Your host server software should correctly set the file permissions to what your host allows/requires...
Welcome to RCF Dha!!!

Ok,your folder permissions are set to 755. I expected that and that is quite normal. What I need to know is the default file permissions. I need to know what your host allows/requires for your file permissions on your server...

Hi,
I have looked ûp the permissions of files and folders and they are all the same.
On the picture from the link i've posted it says apply to all files and when i checked i saw that all permissions on all files are like that.

Didier |

I don't think you understand what I'm asking. I really need to know if your host server software requires different file permissions than what most servers allow. There are some servers that require the file permissions to be set to 755. If you are on one of those servers, then you will need to install a modified version of EM before it will work correctly on your server. But there is no need to install the modified version if your host server allows the standard file permissions rather than requiring them to be set to 755 or some other non-standard permission...
So what I asking is what your host server software allows/requires for the file permissions. If you have already modified all of them and aren't sure what the default settings should be, simply upload a file, then check it's permissions. Your host server software should set the permissions correctly. Then let me know what those permissions are so we can decide what to do for the next step...

When i upload a new file, the permissions are set by default to 755 and when I try to change it, it doesn't work. It won't accept anything but 755. I can only change the read/write permissions.

Great. That's what I needed to know. You need to install the modified EM Version that I will list below. I called it the Awardspace version, but it seems to work fine on all sites with restrictions like your's. Awardspace was just the first host that I found with this problem...
Before you can reinstall this version, you will need to decrease the EM version in EM Settings in your ACP MOD Center. Just scroll to the bottom of the page and change it to 0.2.0. Then you can reinstall the Awardspace version...
Awardspace Instructions w/Download
You can download this EM version that I have modified to work on Awardspace sites. The file can be found in the downloads/phpBB/EasyMod section at the top of the page. Make sure that all uploaded file permissions are set to 755:
easymod_awardspace.zip
Here are the instructions for modifying your EM installation files if you choose to do it yourself rather than use the modified EM version that I supplied above:
Awardspace Modifications
Your board requires script file permissions to be set to 755 instead of 644 like most other boards. So even if EM installs correctly, the EM file permissions would be set to 644...
Unfortunately for sites like your's, EM sets the file permissions to 644 when it modifies them. So go into the following files to set all matches of 0644 to 0755 before you install EM:
- easymod/em_includes/em_modio.php
- easymod/em_includes/em_ftp.php
Also, modify the check_file_scope function in your easymod/includes/admin_easymod.php.txt file by copying and pasting the code:
OPEN
easymod/includes/admin_easymod.php.txt
FIND
| Code:
|
|
if( !@file_exists(phpbb_realpath($filename)) || !strstr(phpbb_realpath($filename), phpbb_realpath($expected_scope)) )
|
REPLACE WITH
| Code:
|
//if( !@file_exists(phpbb_realpath($filename)) || !strstr(phpbb_realpath($filename), phpbb_realpath($expected_scope)) )
if( !@file_exists(phpbb_realpath($filename)) )
|
The check_file_scope function should now look like this:
| Code:
|
function check_file_scope($filename, $expected_scope, $simply_die = false)
{
global $db, $lang;
// make sure a file is located somewhere inside the specified directory
//if( !@file_exists(phpbb_realpath($filename)) || !strstr(phpbb_realpath($filename), phpbb_realpath($expected_scope)) )
if( !@file_exists(phpbb_realpath($filename)) )
{
$message = sprintf($lang['EM_modio_open_read'], $filename);
if( $simply_die )
{
$db->sql_close();
die($message);
}
message_die(GENERAL_ERROR, $message);
}
}
|
Save all the modified files and upload them to their proper sub-folders in the admin/mods/easymod folder. Then go ahead and try the EM install again...

Hello,
Thank you very very much, it works!
Now another question if i may
I now installed the Photo Album v2 for phpBB2 (2.0.56 ), installation starts but i get some errors (see below). When i force the installation to continue then the album is visible in the admin panel but ther is no link on the index page.
How can I make the album, shoutbox and download links visible in the 2 styles?
