I see this in vault after a scan, I don't think its a real threat and sent it into avg to see what they say.

Do you have WinDVD installed? It kind of sounds like the SQPlus.dll file may be part of the WinDVD install. There are a lot of sites that haven't determined whether it is safe or not but some were thinking that it was a false positive...

It came with movie factory, and windvd too I think. The source leads to movie factory so I think it is a false alarm.

Well if it came with Corel's WinDVD, the SQPlus.dll file is a false positive...

This may be nothing more than a file that does an automatic update check each time you launch the program. I think I would contact TOSHIBA and ask them about it.

On the other hand if everything works ok with the file in the vault than I wouldn't worry about it. Just don't delete the file from the vault until you are certain you don't need it.

So what should I do, empty the vault and just live with it being in there?

No don't empty the vault, just leave it there. Does movie factory and windvd both work ok with the file in the vault?

I see someone else with a new toshiba has the same thing, this can't be a coincidence can it?

Brand New Toshiba Satellite Notebook, Vista Home Basic, Daily scanning has been completed using AVG Free 8.5, today's results show infection with the virus "trojan horse Generic_c.BSXJ, unable to heal or move to vault due to size (835 MB). The following files are infected:

"C:\Program Files\TOSHIBA\TOSAPINS\COMPS1\TC0016270\TC00162700C.exe:\Data1.cab";"T rojan horse Generic_c.BSXJ";"Infected"

"C:\Program Files\TOSHIBA\TOSAPINS\COMPS1\TC0016270\TC00162700C.exe:\Data1.cab:\_2 212FE9FF45D557DCAC02ACD1935707E";"Trojan horse Generic_c.BSXJ";"Infected"

Used MalwareBytes Anti-malware to scan files, no infections found. Cannot determine what to do about the AVG results since I am afraid to manually delete important files created by Toshiba. Am not sure how to extract the good from the bad since I didn't create the archived files to begin with...Have looked at Toshiba's forum which told me to check here. I read other responses, but still cannot determine if the computer is infected or if it is a false positive result. Please advise...

Wait a minute, I am seeing this all over the place in avg forum, new toshibas with movie factory being detected as virus. Here is what they are telling everyone:

Reporting suspected false positives to .... Only option available as an AVG Free user....
