Sandisk And Sony To Create 2TB Memory Stick
SanDisk and Sony have announced that they are aiming to produce a memory stick that can achieve a maximum storage capacity of 2TB and a memory stick that transfers data at 60MB per second.
Tentatively named as "Memory Stick format for Extended High Capacity," Sony and SanDisk aims to expand the "Memory Stick PRO" format series to achieve a maximum storage capacity of 2-terabytes (TB), while the "Memory Stick HG Micro" format enables a maximum data-transfer speed of 60 megabytes per second (MB/s), making it one of the fastest-smallest memory card formats to date.
