there is still no volume control in the right hand corner and under devise manager it says I have no audio , when I turn the speakers on and off I can hear a big click and then static so i don't think it's them-the green light goes on and off as i turn them on and off...
Anyone have any idea why her speakers don't work after reformatting? |

If the drivers have been installed go to Sounds and Audio Devices in Control Panel
Check out the Volume and Audio tabs, and the others too, make sure the sound is turned on and the right device is selected. To have the icon placed in the System Tray check the little square.

I'm not getting any feedback from Purple, I have no idea what she has done or tried, if anything, that I have suggested so far. I'm really not sure what else to suggest. Tell me what's been done or tried so far.

| i think she is waiting for a tech guy to help. shes still learning a lot of the basics and doesn't have a lot of confidence, but she's smart and should have more confidence. |

I know how she feels, I know how hard it is when first starting out, everything about a PC is scary.

| I think its her sound card. she did get all the dell drivers, but without hearing if that helped I don't think thats the problem since she doesn't have a sound device at all. I think maybe a bad connection, whatever it is it happened after she unplugged speakers to reformat. Maybe open up cover and wiggle the sound card around and if that doesn't help maybe replace the card. |

Yes I did fix it on my own, but I still had the tech guy come and check things and set up the wireless internet,
Rb I appreciate all your suggestions it seems that the default setting was set to the wrong devise, I didn't know we had 2- but when I was installing 73 drivers and downloads from Dell I notice a lot of them were for SoundMAX and that's not what my default was set on-all I had to do was change the default-when instead I have been |
