I’m sticking with Windows XP

You’ve heard it all before — the bell tolls for Windows XP. The governor isn’t calling to give it a reprieve — Microsoft is officially declaring it end of life for system OEMs on June 30. On April 14, 2009, mainstream support dies. Enterprises with extended support contracts can keep trundling along until April of 2014.

Does that mean everyone should go straight to Vista right now? Hell no. I certainly am not.

I have 2 copies of Vista - one came with the lappy as a 2 roll-up upgrade and I was gifted the other. I am supposed to get one more upgrade in her after whatever Vista is?!?! And will I do it? NOPE. My nephew's lappy has it and he is having really crazy issues on crashes plus hang time changing applications. He's 10, so do not take that as advice.... take it as he's 10. He has nothing on his HD so I am not sure what is going on. But then his cell phone bill was $300 so who really knows.

I just know I'm not ready to make the massive changes that the Vista r u ready for me program said I would need to do. One of them is that my graphics card is not compatible and possibly my sound card too? I forgot but I know it was major. I had to remove heaps of stuff and hope they are upgrades/updates for the rest or be SOL. I had a 2 1/2 page printout of how to get this lappy ready. I'll say this, don't even ask me where it is. (laughs)
