This also works for SeaMonkey
How to eliminate speling mistkes in Firefox text boxes
Firefox spell checker only looks at large text areas, like the body of your email or blog post. The title fields aren't checked by default.
But it turns out that enabling spell check for all text fields is pretty easy.
1. Open up the Firefox configuration window by typing about:config in your URL bar
2. Type layout.spellcheckDefault in the filter box
3. Change the value from 1 to 2
That's it. Now open up any window with a text box and misspell a word. Firefox should underline it in red, and when you right click on the word you should get spelling suggestions.

Sure will LadyDi. If they are really useful, some are just silly and useless. I really like this one!

I want the one that cuts off?? the case sensitivity in the user name fields. IE was never like that for me, if you type a lower case letter, then all of that chosen letter's option would be listed/shown. On FF, if you do not use the CAP key and then type the letter, nothing shows up until....
Or is that just my lappy woe (#????) ?? |

Maybe your settings?
Or if you just started using Firefox you may not have all your user names and passwords saved yet? Not sure I have noticed what you're talking about ... I've just started using SeaMonkey and found tons of sites I had to remember, or dig for, user names and passwords I had saved in Firefox but of course they weren't in SeaMonkey.

I'll have to wait to restart FF but it I did change THAT setting and it did not work. In other words, I have a user name that begins with 'L' right. If I type 'l', the it will not pop up ALL user names 'l'. I have ti use the CAP key in order the the 'L' name to pop-up at all. In IE, it's not that sensitive. You either case, you get all match under that letter no matter if it is capped or not. Understand now Lady Rose?? But thanks for that setting option as a tester. |

Well I can't find a site right now where I have a user name starting with a capital letter to test it out.... however, when I go to my Aim mail (AOL web mail) I have several accounts there under different user names and as soon as I open the site a box pops up listing all the user names, I never get a chance to type anything. They all start with lower case letters however.
Same thing happens when I go to the G-mail site.

Yeah all but one of my Gmail accounts are lower case and the one that is not is there by default, you know that thingy. It's too early for me to start deeply thinking. (laughs) I've had my OJ (what coffee is to coffee consumers) and I'm still not woke. I'll figure it out. Oft times if I just type a scenario in Google, oddly enough info will pop-up on it. So I'll do that after another half glass of OJ.
Have a fantabulous day!! |
