I installed several widgets in Opera. When I run them, they run like standalone applications...

That's what I expected but when I click on the download I was taken to the Open With window to chose a program ....???? The extension on the download is .widget

Do you have a program that allows you to install widgets? You can do it in Opera 9 if you want...

Well it said it was for the desk top ... I only wanted to try it out. I'm thinking now that it may not be worth it. What kind of program installs widgets?
I don't have Opera installed right now. Might be my next download and install. Would the clock be "in" Opera or can I put it on the desktop?

I don't know what other programs handle widgets. Since Opera does, I've had no need to find any others that can run them too. You can go to the Opera website and download and install many widgets that you could launch from Opera. The widgets remain active even after Opera is closed...

K, I've installed Opera. It even offers a clock. Not that I need a clock at all I was just going to try it out.
But Opera is working great and has all my bookmarks, must have retrieved them from the last install.

It was a piece of cake! I like the way Opera looks now when first installed, it doesn't seem to have such an overwhelming bunch of stuff right off the bat. Would like to know how to remove the panel next to the bookmarks if that's possible. Although it's rather useful to be open all the time and now that I have the wide screen I have plenty of room.
