Thanks for this valuable link for panic situations. I have it saved to a folder ans BACKED UP just in case! Did you find this after your HDD crashed or during or before?

After. However backup is not something I didn't know about. I had a certain amount of backups ...... some turned out to be useless. The problem is unless you back up every few hours you won't have the recent stuff and sometimes that's the most important. Well maybe not the MOST important but important anyway. It sure seems like it's the most important once it's gone.
At any rate if I wasn't able to still read my old HDD I would have lost a few things that are dear to me. For one thing when I was saving stuff it never occurred to me there would be stuff in the Program Files folder that I would want to save!!! What idiotic program saves stuff in the Program Files folder?!?!

All in all I came out of this crash in fairly good condition.
