OK! Installed it and created a page.

This is soooo neat! And easy. I love it! Tons of formats/templates.

Choose to install the registered copy.

Click on the link to go to the site for registration. You can fill out the form and click to have the number emailed and then wait and wait ....

I got tired of waiting so at the top of that form where it asks for a number I put GIVEAWD57X5, that's what they kept saying was the key.

As soon as I put in that number and clicked to continue a registration number was shown on the screen. Copy that and paste it into the program you are installing and you're done!

That sounds like homestead's sitebuilders. They are drag and drop. Its easy but has drawbacks, like most all other websites are built with code so these don't match, they stand out, where if made with codes your site might look more professional. Another drawback, since HS is made with java they can't be transferred, and that is why I have to build my new site from scratch. Another problem is getting my domain name from them, its a pain and I don't know if I will ever get fisheadtackle name back. Another problem is publishing, there is an extra hurdle, I have to match files everytime it opens, takes awhile, then when I publish it can be a long prcess and can be problematic. Thats the best thing I found with new site made with code, no more long publishing processes, I just drag and drop to database and done, no messing around. I wish someone would have told me all this years ago when I started my first site, I figure I lost all those years, what I learned was for nothing, whereas now what I learn about codes is usefull, very usefull and sometimes this new site is actually easier to make pages, meaning firstpage is easier than LPX of homesteads.

In short, its like comparing power point to word, PP is easier but once you get familiar word, its not so hard.

X4 was a bit of a challenge to install. I couldn't find the product code until I canceled the install. That seems a bit backwards to me. Once installed, it woudln't work because I was using Large font. So I had to set it back to normal fonts and reboot before I could get it to work. That is a strange restriction for this program. X5 does look nice, but it may not be something that I will be using much...

I'm changing my font back to Customized again...

Does anybody know why my X5 will not open? I D/L it and have an icon on my desktop but it will do nothing except make a sound when I click on the icon.

It's possible that it's not XP or Vista compatible. I had trouble opening it in W2K because my font size was too large. The program shouldn't have cared what my W2K font settings were, so if it is that picky on a very well established OS, I wouldn't be surprised that it might struggle with the newer versions...
