Jace, IE7 will install in a new folder it doesn't overwrite IE6.  You will have both browsers.  If you don't like IE7 you can uninstall if you want or just leave it.

IE7 is for Windows XP and Windows 2003 Server only.  There are some questions and answers here:

Internet Explorer 7 support

Yes, after you install IE7 you can continue to use IE6

You don't have to buy either one.  IE6 is free.  Matter of face it's integrated with Windows, you can't hardly do without it.  You can't uninstall it.

Show them that page at the link I sent you and let them read about it.

You know what, Jace?  From what I'm reading apparently I was wrong when I told you that both versions of IE would be available at the same time.  I was misunderstanding.  You would have to "roll back" to IE6 if you didn't want IE7.  However IE6 is not removed from your machine.

I use W2K on my main machine but I do have a PC running XP and I had installed IE7 on that one.  I worked with it for a bit just to see what it looked like, I guess I didn't realize that IE 6 was no longer available.  It's not hooked up right now so I can't check it out.

Here is a short discussion where one person had a bit of a problem but it was easily solved.

http://forums.techguy.org/web-email/459906-ie7-problems.html

I have a feeling eventually you will be required by MicroSoft to have IE7 installed anyway.  I'm like your parents however and like to wait until some thing new has been out and tried for a while before installing.

hmm, If it wans't for me we would still be using wmp 7 :p

So of what I can understand all you have to do is just un-install ie 7 and ie6 will be back again.

You mean there is a newer one?!? Shocked

Yes, uninstalling IE7 should leave you with IE6.  At least that's what Microsoft says. Would Microsoft lie????   Shocked

Yes they would!  LOL

don't worry about it, you'll like it and won't want to go back.
