Will somebody read about this program and give me your opinion. Or better still, D/L and try it and report any bugs. Better you than me. I recieved this in a TIPS e-mail from another message board tody. Yes I do occasionaly stray to another board sometimes but always come back disappointed of course. There's no place like HOME.
SpeeDefrag
As I’m sure all of you know, defragging your PC is a maintenance procedure that can vastly improve you system's efficiency performance. As I’m also sure most of you know by now, defragging your system is a long uneventful procedure that can tie up you PC for three to four hours, easily. I believe that it is for this reason that a lot of people (myself included) go longer than really recommended between defrags, thus losing some of your system’s performance.
Hopefully this week's download will help rectify this situation by streamlining your system defrag. It will help to cut the time down to a fraction of what it used to be when using Windows for the same procedure. What is it? It's called SpeeDefrag and it not only runs an incredibly fast defrag process, but it also has a couple of features you may find very useful.
What allows SpeeDefrag to perform the defrag process so much faster than its competitor is actually what it does before the defrag starts. SpeeDefrag will actually restart your system, running only SpeeDefrag, which can have an enormous impact on the time it takes to complete the defragmentation.
There are a couple of features and options you can set to make the whole process tailor made for you as well. For example, you can choose the drives you whish to include in the defrag. You can also schedule to have your defrag performed at your convenience. Maybe while you're at work, for instance. And last, but not least, you can set SpeeDefrag to shut down your system after the defrag is complete, which makes this ideal for those of us who may forget about it. Perform a defrag before you go to bed or before you go to work and the system will be done and powered down by the next time you go to use your PC.
SpeeDefrag is a lightweight program with heavy weight features. If you're like me, you're adding and removing programs and data constantly from your system, but you still demand a high performance. If that's the case, SpeeDefrag is the program for you. Check it out!
You can download SpeeDefrag here.
SpeeDefrag 4.1 Updated
SpeeDefrag is the exclusive freeware program , which optimizes Windows XP defrag. It restarts your computer, which refreshes the RAM and loads just the defrag.exe program. This imposes minimum load on the system and therefore defragmentation speed is increased. This small software will also shutdown or restart your computer automatically once defrag is over. Also now it supports scheduling of defrag.

Actually I was hoping you would install, run it and report to us how good, or bad, it was.
I might first run it on my backup PC to test it out. Maybe. If you do test it out, Bobby, be sure to report back here for the rest of us. It sounds good.

It sounds like the program has potential. It appears to only work on WXP though...
