My brother sent me the URL a few months ago:
http://www.faststone.org/FSCaptureDetail.htm
This is a free screen capture utility for Windows. Its sellng point for me was the capability of capturing a scrolling window. I tried out that feature yesterday. It really can scroll the window and capture the parts that are off-screen.
It's quite a flexible program. You can also add text to a screenshot, resize it, and other stuff. |

Holy smoke, that sound like a good one!
My poooooor sweet little Gadwin has been overshadowed!
Well I'm staying loyal! It's Gadwin for me!
Not even going to try FastStone Capture! Upstart!
Kidding aside, bigR, it does sound great. I may give it a try. Eventually. Maybe. Some day. When the hurt eases up.

I think I like the idea that you can take a screenshot of objects displayed off of the screen. It has happened many times when I couldn't adjust the window dimensions enough to capture everything that I wanted to capture. I'm willing to try the new program to see what it's like...
Thanks bigR for bringing this to our attention...

| I've been mostly a happy puppy with the Gadwin program solved a ton of headaches for me but I did notice it couldn't get anything scrolled so will check this out. |

| Well shoot, shucks and dadgummit bigR, thanks for the information on FastStone 4.2. I'm a Nota gonna CUT AND RUN just yet on my beloved Gadwin PrintScreen but I did just D/L it to my Downloads folder. Some day when I'm in a CUT AND RUN mood or need a captureing app that will handle scrolling I may try it. But you can bet your boots that that little RB filly will never know when I do. I don't know why I'm talking like this. I guess I'm just in a George Bush mood. If that is my problem I will take the appropriate steps to immediately remove all traces of it from myself. |

| Well I like Gadwin too but no reason I can't use both. I brought up the fastone capture clicked settings and clicked to file... To get the picture open my computer and click "C" or whatever your hard drive is and it will be right there... You can use when you need to capture scroll . Otherwise you can use your gadwinn capture |

I downloaded this and thought I'd give it the ultimate test to capture the whole scrolling window. Nr will remember the very long page I was trying to get working on my site recently. Well I captured the entire screen with just one easy click. It saves it in PNG format.

Yes you can even go one more step and select the area from the Scrolled capture for your image using the editor that comes with this. The captured image will appear in the editor, so it is only about 2 steps to get the exact area of your long scrolled image that you want. I like it. I will definitely be using it when the area that I want to capture scrolls off of the page...
