I suspect that my "D" Drive may not be OK because it will not burn a DVD using Nero 5.5. I copied a DVD movie (the Bear) to my "C" Drive successfully but could not burn it to a blank DVD+RW disk using Nero 5.5. I D/L an AVI file to my desktop and tried burning it to a blank DVD but it wouldn't do it. Is there another way to check if my "D" Drive is faulty? My "D" is a DVD/CD burner. When I tried to burn the AVI file using my "D" Drive my PC locked up.

Bobby, could you try to burn something else other than a AVI file. Have another interesting thread for you to read. Actually you will see it cover two forums

They are talking about converting ... is that done during the burning process or do you first have to conver the AVI file BEFORE you burn it?

I know you want to use a RW disk so you can use it again and not waste it however to find out if the D drive is good try burning to a R disk and see if that is successfull. Put some JPG on it, that is never a waste.
