Will WinPatrol conflict with other security programs?
WinPatrol works much differently than traditional Anti-Spyware & Security programs. We don't hook directly into any system resources and all system monitoring is done as read only operations. Many of our users also use programs from Norton, Sygate, McAfee, AVG, Panda, TrendMicro and no conflicts have been reported. Our users have also had success with Adaware, SpyBot as well as the highly recommended Zone Alarm.
WinPatrol has an advantage in detecting and stopping potentially dangerous programs but we still encourage the use of the anti-virus program of your choice to help you find and remove any portions that remain. For list of other vendors see http://www.mysteryware.com
SpySweeper users have reported that Scotty regularly lets them know about changes to the HOSTs file. Apparently SpySweeper in its monitoring of the HOST file rewrites the file. We recommend you disable HOST file monitoring in either SpySweeper or in WinPatrol set the patrol time for HOST file to zero.

Hehehe.... I have a cute Scotty Dog in my System Tray! Right now I have the free version of WinPatrol installed. Testing it out.
They mentioned the conflict with SpySweeper (which I don't have) but they didn't say anything about The Cleaner, however, it also alerts me when changes are made. I wonder if it and WinPatrol will conflict?
The Cleaner alerted me three times while I was installing WinPatrol, I think it only alerts to registry changes.
gdatuk, which verson do you have, the free or the Plus?

Get the free version if you'll don't want to pay the 10 bucks. I'm sure it's just as good. I have the free one and there are a LOT of features. I don't think there is much missing.
Don't you love the little Scotty Dog in the system tray?!

No, I wish it could have been a Pitbull instead so I could really feel safe...

Heheh, I like Scotty!! Fiesty and cute. I love to hear him bark when you click one of the utilites. LOL Did you notice he moves a little every once in a while?
I like the way it handles the removal of cookies. In Netscape you can only click one at a time to have it removed and then the list jumps back to the top. With WinPatrol you go down the list and check all the cookie boxes you want removed and remove them all at one time.
I think I'm going to like WinPatrol. I'm glad gdatuk posted about it. I have added it to the Links Page, this is really a winner! I still haven't purchased it but I think I will. All furture upgrades are free, can't beat that!

I was just kidding about your little Scotty dog. There are few other breeds that are that distinguishable in such a small image. I hadn't noticed him moving around though. Mine seems to sit pretty still most of the time. I must have him trained well...
