New Orleans is where I've told my friends
They must visit at  least once if they can.
It's unique as any  city can possibly be
Even in this ecclectic American land.

The food, the customs,the language
And above all it's people so diverse.
Together make a wonderful culture
I can't do it  justice in my simple verse.

Now many folks are lost and dead I fear
Others are uprooted and in a  limbo.
I look in those eyes and see the fear
Of not knowing what path they will go.

Children have lost their sense of security
Replaced by fear they should not know
It won't be easy to heal all the wounds
This disaster has been too big of a blow.

Memories have a way of making us see
All the good things from out of the past
And as time goes by and you're safe again
The good memories are what will last.

Sadly, some of you will never return
To where you're heart will always be..
I pray you will be warmly welcomed
Where a bright future you will see.

I hope you'll not be bitter or cross
At those who just try to help out.
That it is not  going to be easy
for either side there is no doubt.

America has lost a treasure here
Which probably will never be regained.
New Orleans was like a fine wine
It's bottle broken it can't be reclaimed.

So the Battle to save New Orleans
Is wrought with sweat and tears.
And it will be a long, hard struggle
for many folks and  for many  years.

MK that is your BEST!!!

I don't have the words needed to praise it properly but that's ok, it speaks for itself better than anything I could say anyway.
