Help me find a good 24" monitor for a good price.

That's a nice one mojo!  It's $159.99 here, free ship

http://www.amazon.com/ViewSonic-VA2431WM-24-Inch-Widescreen-Speakers/d p/B003FP7OYM

I like the frame part better than the 2450.  There is also a 2448 in about the same price range and specs.  Wish I better understood the differences.

Still looking for all specs and reviews on the 2431.

Thanks mojo.

Really like the looks of the 2431 but reviewers say there is a blue bleed (halo) around the edges and the blacks aren't as black as they should be.

The 2450 has good reviews except one reviewer mentioned the large white lettering on the lower bevel as being rather annoying. and they ARE large.  Also in one review, a video, the guy mentions the flimsy stand.

The 2448 has the most easily accessible connections on the back.  Complains were cheap stand, flimsy to the point the monitor seemed unstable and the CD wouldn't load.

All have sound, all have 1920x1080 resolutions, all are 1080p and all have 3 year warranty, all are free ship.  All seem to have a flimsy stand.  Don't understand that, I have a View Sonic right now and the stand is rock solid.  I also have a Samsung and a Hannspree and the stands are rock solid.  Don't know what gives with monitor stands these days.

Decisions, decisions.  I'm kinda partial to ViewSonic for some reason but I may look around at other brands.  I read mentioned that LG monitors very good

The one at amazon is refurbished if I where you I would only buy new.

Anyway I recommend Samsung monitor.  I have had mine for 10 years and it is still kicking.  ::knocks on wood::

They do cost more but worth it.

My son as a LG which also he still using think his is 10 years he bought his right after or just before I got mine.

Thanks Chrissy for the advice and links!  The one at Amazon is not refurbished, although they DO have one refurbished for $144.99.  One thing I really like about the one at Amazon is that it has both a VGA and a DVI connection.  And it has a nice clean look.

Looked at the Samsung monitors at the link you posted, looks like this is the only one that has a DVI connections, my video card has only DVI ports.

That's a nice one.  I'll have to see if I can find it somewhere for the same price with free shipping and no tax. Will check out the LGs you linked to.  I have a 22" ViewSonic monitor right now.  Correction ... I have a dead ViewSonic monitor right now.  LOL

Yep, I'm beginning to realize I'm going to have to up my price range if I want a decent monitor.  The ViewSonic I have now cost $389 new and it was on sale.  It's only about 4 years old and this is the second time the backlight has gone out.  The first time it was still under warranty and they repaired it for free.  Repair didn't last long, I expected another 3 years.  I'm getting a little turned off on ViewSonic

Hummm, nix the 27", won't fit in the space I have.  Back to approx 25" in size.

Prefer monitor with sound and DVI connection
