Microsoft Stops Shipping XP to OEMs on Windows 7's First Birthday
Stick a fork in it; Windows XP is officially done. Sort-of. For Friday marked the final day that Microsoft allowed OEMs to install this version of the company's Windows operating system onto new PCs.
But that shouldn't really come as any kind of a shock to interested shoppers. In fact, it shouldn't come as anything new—Microsoft already sandbagged the Windows XP river in mid-2008, when it cut off Windows XP supplies for nearly all categories of available systems. Only ultra-low-cost PCs were given an extension from the deadline.
I guess if I ever need a new PC I'll definitely have to build it from scratch. Question is will the manufactures of new components be writing drivers for XP, hummmmm?

Yea I love my XP too and have not upgraded. I'm a firm believer in if it aint broke don't fix it. This is in no way a condemnation of windows 7, as I have no personel experience with it... |

What a beautiful bunch of little mums you have there!!
XP .. yeah me too. I've messed a little with Win7. My problem with it is that they have changed the OS too much, it's almost like learning a new OS. I'm sure in time I could learn where everything is but I don't want to learn Windows all over again, I just want to use it.
