I went to church on Sunday
As I am often wont to do.
I went in and took a seat
And knelt quickly by the pew.

I came to hear the sermon
And to pray a little too.
To thank God for his blessings
And my faith to renew.

Soon I was distracted
by two ladies in front of me.
They giggled and frowned
At each person they did see.

This person wasn't pretty
And he was much too fat.
Her outfit wasnt to their liking
And that child was a brat.

Now I wasn't thinking
Very Christian thoughts.
They'd spoiled my holy day
And the peace I had sought .

Now These services
Are not a style show
Or a beauty pagent either
which surely you must know.

So if this is all it means to you
that you are just too bored.
Please stay at home next Sunday
And don't defile the house of the Lord.

Unfortunately, it seems that Churches are being taken over by people who think and act like these people. It seems that Christianity has been hijacked by some very hateful and intolerant people with a political lust for power. I'm still confused about when God became a Republican...

Unfortunately, many churches today seem to be more of a business than a holy santuary. Some how or other, even the churches give creedence to how much money one can contribute than anything else...I hope they realize money can't BUY salvation. Not that having it is a mark against you. But what you do and don't do for the betterment of your fellow man,is what counts...

I think based on my experience, I would change "many" to "most" Katy. I think today's Christianity is be lead by False Prophets and their faithful flocks are accepting everything without question. I think that was foretold in the Christian Bible too, but I doubt many would want to believe that they are the ones being deceived and mislead...
