The Mother bird
admires her chicks
in a comfy nest
of twigs and sticks
She'll fly all day
for food to nourish
So her lovely chicks
will soon flourish.
She'd like to keep
them in her nest
And cuddle them
close to her breast.
But she knows to well
that they must fly.
And she must nudge them
from the nest up high.
And thus when the time comes
She does her motherly best
to see that the chicks
All pass the fly test. |

Are all of these originals Katy? You are very talented if true. You ought to publish these poems...

Yes, these are all mine.... It's just something that I've always enjoyed reading others poems and now when ever I get a thought I write it down.... aaaand thank you for saying so... These are all rather simple and easy feelings... |

They may seem simple to you, Katy, but not to someone that can't write poetry.
I'm very impressed.

I think some of the best and most enjoyable poetry is the simple ones. I get lost in the more complex poems and when I'm lost, I don't really enjoy it at all...

I agree with Nightrider. About the simple poems being the most enjoyable AND about publishing your poetry.
"Publishing" doesn't have to mean a massive undertaking, Katy. You tell how you make DVD's of photos and music for your children and grandchildren, don't forget to make a record of your poems!
Expecially Ode to Rosalie! LOL
