Very often, not always, when I click on a link at any website, I get a new window that takes me to http://results.googlesyndication.com/ Also, I have to refresh the pages very often in order for them to load. I get the message that the browser doesn't find/couldn't connect with the remote server. It happens just as much in IE as it does in Opera. I have a fully working Norton 360 installed and have scanned the computer for virus and nothing.
Anyone else having these problems or experienced them? This has been going on for about four weeks now and I have cleaned out cooking and temp files for both browsers and done what I think would be the logical thing to do...

Sounds like malware to me, Spider. Not a virus. Do you run any malware cleaners?
Download and install Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. The free version is good enough. The people at CNET seem to swear by this program, I've been using it for a long time now.

Thanks RB! Seems like spybot took care of it. You are amazing when it comes to computers! Do you work full-time with computers or have your main income from that knowledge?

Hardly! LOL I did rescue a couple of PCs for a company one time and got paid. I learned most of what I know by trial and error working on my own PC and those of my friends. I got tired of being ripped of by PC repair shops.

If it keeps doing it at some point and time you might need a new wireless router, if you use one. Thats one of the symptoms, bad connections, they can slowly go out. |
