This MOD allows the board administrator(s) and each user to manage the time displayed on the board.  They can...

  - set the DST time lag of their state/country
  - enable/disable manually the DST
  - just synchronize DST switches with the server ones
  - fully use the server local time
  - fully use the server UTC time & the user's computer settings
  - fully use the user's computer local time

Go into the Profile to adjust your time settings...

We will see.  Since we don't move our clocks but only twice per year, this MOD is a bit tough to test.  For those who forget to change their settings in Profile, they will still have to deal with the time regardless of whether this MOD works properly or not.  I have mine set to follow my PC time, which should always be correct...

A bunch of us here in Florida are talking about getting a referendum on the ballot to stop playing with the time.  Since this is the Sunshine State, it doesn't make any sense for it to be dark half the year when people are getting off of work.  We want to switch back to DST and stay there and I think it would be easy to convince a lot of people to vote for it.  I see no good reason to play with the time twice per year and I don't know too many people who like it either...

Here in Texas a lot of people would like to stay on Standard Time. It's hot enough in summer we don't need that heat in the evening too. It'd be nice to have a little evening cooling earlier.

Ya just can't please everybody. Wink

Well we are going to pass a Constitutional Ammendment to restore DST to all states and keep it that way year round.  You don't have any choice or say in the matter, so you're going to have to accept it without question or complaint.  We know what is best for you!!!   Twisted Evil

Nightrider,

May I ask, without causing trouble, how these changes were accomplished when the last I knew, I was going to have to go into some area of the board creators??? to request that this ability be allowed as far as the programmers who create this open source borad are concerned?  It seems to me that a prior "upset" may have been avoided.

As to this stupid time change twice per year, I FULLY agree with Art Bell, who has a REAL BIG THING about this as he has TONS of time pieces to change and is sick and tired of this PITA which I'd gather signatures to "repeal" if need be.

Open Source is always open for new development.  There are probably millions of developers who write Open Source code to share with the world for free. The only thing that limits them are ideas.  When someone makes a good suggestion, there is likely to be an Open Source developer willing and ready to make it a reality...

That's what happened with this Time Management MOD.  Someone posted a request for the MOD and an Open Source developer was happy to create and share it with the world.  I'm happy that someone was willing to take the time and put forth the effort to make the suggestion or this MOD may not have become a reality for at least another 6 months or so...

We have been talking about circulating a petition to get a referendum to stop changing the time twice per year, but no one here that I know, knows how to get the ball rolling.  Hopefully one day soon, we will have our first signature, so that the petition process will take off and grow legs.  The sooner we can get enough people to act on this, the sooner we can stop this silly practice of playing with the time twice per year...
