Once up a time in America
We were invited to join Lucille
In her gen'ts merry Oldsmobile
And even get behind the wheel
Baseball, hotdogs and apple pie
Along with Chevrolet defined us
We were doing pretty well ya see
No reason to make a big fuss
Than Dinah came singing along
Inviting us to see the USA today
And the best way to do this was
Of course in your 50's Chevrolet
Pink Cadilacs and red Corvettes
Along with trucks and minivans
Were such a pleasure to own and
GM always met our demands
It was sad when you realized
Your first car was now classic
And the car you own now is
Nothing special its just basic
We don't love our cars anymore
Or have pride in what we own
I hope the future is brighter
Cause GM was a comfort zone |
