Thanks for reporting back, Bobby, and I'm glad you finally have everything squared away and all is ship shape!
I guess you showed Norton!!
They just might send you a brand new CD with the latest and bestest of the Norton SystemWorks! Then what?

That's all it takes to lose a customer forever. M$ had the same effect on me. Why do you think I promote non-M$ products so much???
Hopefully all is well now...

Well, it's a little bit late for this, but the issue you were having likely could have been due to a registry key getting nuked. I've actually seen this happen quite often with NAV2k4 and Systemworks 2k4.
In the registry 'Run' portion, the key referring to CCAPP.EXE was probably removed.
Simply adding this to you startup menu works fine...or just run it from the Run box. Either way, once it's running all is well.
"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\CCAPP.EXE" |

That does sound like good advice. I think Bobby has resolve his problem by now by switching to AVG. His experience with Symantec tech support wasn't good, so I imagine he won't be using their products anymore. I you would have been here before it came to that. Oh well, that's life...

Thanks to all for your help. I have HAD IT with Norton forever now. Their cost-saving non-english speaking support and arrogant attitude has turned me off from ever buying any of their products again. AVG is working fine for me. I don't mind paying for a good product but I do resent paying for a product and being treated as I was. I'll bet that I can survive without Norton's products. I finally found my lost Norton Systemworks 2004 CD but will not reinstall it. |
