its not solved, he set up shop again today. I was able to get copies of his files and then I deleted them. I cannot belive these crooks can't be tracked down somehow. I read where I should add blank index pages in every folder and so I did that but I think he must be entering in my main index because thats where the folder is created.
I was wondering why my stats went up so fast, there is thousands of people people id theft from these hackers and it may result in my website being shutdown. |

I had a phish installed on my site as well.
The first I knew about it was when my host suspended my site on me !
It was never resolved how they got in, but since I changed the passwords so that ftp and control panel have different passwords, I ahvent had a repeat.
I also put in a webpage in the place of the phish, so that stupid people visiting that site would get an eye full of how stupid they are. For a while after, it was averaging 100 hits a day. It tapered off then, but after stopping for a bit, it then came full on again for about another month. So persumably the scammers never actually worked out their scam was telling people they were being scammed instead of doing what they thought it did and they resent out the same email. |
