I keep getting emails with () in the address field. That makes it impossible to bounce it. The software however tells me that creating a filter should help out. I have created a filter, but still get those emails (spam). What am I doing wrong?

Do you first read your headers in MailWasher, Spider? I think even with filters you will see the headers there but they will be marked either bounce or delete or both and when you press Process Mail those emails will not arrive in your mail reader's Inbox.
If you are saying they STILL arrive in your Inbox then I'm not sure what the problem is. Several people I know seem to have some sort of problem with Mail Washer lately.
There is a very good forum for Mail Washer and I suggest you post your problem there. They should be able to help you. Look down the list and click on Mailwasher - - Troubleshooting / General. You may even find your answer already there, if not, post your question.

Hope this helps

Spider, I can't help with your Mailwasher problem, but would like to ask you to please consider not bouncing the spam. It does no good, because almost never does it go back to the spammer. Most often, the From line is spoofed, so either it goes to nowhere, to a non-existant email addy, or it goes to some innocent person who's email address was used by the spammer. In either case, it adds to mail servers' load without hurting the spammer at all. |

If the sender's returned is spoofed or non-existant, you will get a message telling you so when you click "Process mail". |

No Bobby. Well, I don't know. But I bounce a lot of emails and never get a message back! The only problem I have is with those containing invalid symbols like I said in my initial post.
However it makes sense what bigR says. Thank you bigR and than you too Bobby and RB for your suggestions!
