Someone I help out is having problems with their outgoing emails. Here is what I was told.

There is no outgoing mail to advise members of answers to posts, PM's in their inbox, and the board will not send mass mails. I sent a mass mail to the School Mentors group, and as I am a member of the group, I should have received a copy of it. Nobody in the group received it. Other members have posted regarding their notifications not arriving ... it appears to have started in the last few days.

I asked if anything new has been added and am waiting a response, but I am sure nothing new has been done as I am usually involved in it.
I have googled but can't really figure out what I should be looking for and where. Can you steer me in some kind of direction?

Since all of the email notifications seem to have stopped, it sounds like the Outgoing (SMTP) Email Server needs to be restarted/reset by the Host. While they are at it, they might as well restart/reset the Incoming (POP3) Email server as well. That should correct the problem...

I had similar problem with that except with me it was only a few members telling me they werent getting notification email happened a few days bk and seemed to have stopped yesterday  |

Yes, if a few members aren't receiving notification, but some are, then the problem is something other than the email servers. But when all email stops, it is usually a problem only the host can fix by resetting/restarting the two email servers. That almost always corrects the problem...
