These are the setting I use for Gadwin Print Screen, you may want slightly different setting but this will at least serve as a guild.
Under the Preferences Tab: you pick your Hot key. I use F6 as the hotkey. Check only the "Notify end of capture" sq in that first section and at the bottom check only "Run at Windows startup".
Under the Source Tab: Check Rectangular Area and Capture Mouse Cursor.
Under Destination Tab: I check Copy captured area to Clipboard (that's in case you want to paste it somewhere right away) check Copy captured area to File and I check Automatic naming but you can have the screen shots named what you want. By default they will be named Screen Shot 1, 2, 3, etc. And then you choose the Directory to put them into. I create a folder on the desktop name Screen Shots and they are sent there automatically.
Under Image Tab: By default the image is saved as a Windows Bitmap, too large, change that to JPEG Bitmap.
That's about it. To make a screen capture, press the PrintScreen button on the keyboard, with your mouse and left button down, draw a square around the part of the screen you want to save, doesn't matter how small or large, just choose what you want, sort of like croping a picture. Let go the mouse button and click the right one and say ok. A copy is on the clipboard and in the folder you created on the desk top.
The neat thing is if you can paste it right into your mail program. I can't in Netscape. But can in Eudora. Also you can paste it into WordPad and email from there. I keep the WordPad icon handy in the quick launch bar. |

These are my Gadwin settings:
Once you set it up, you can take a screenshot of any area on the screen simply by pressing the PrntScreen key and save it to a location where you can upload your images directly to ImageShack. Â You will notice that I have an Image/Screenshots folder. Â I dump all of my screenshots there so that I can find them quickly...

Thank you all for introducing a great screenshot program to me! It has been great help.
And thank you for showing us your settings, I didn't have the clipboard thing checked, and that is very handy!

I didn't see any need for having the image sent to the clipboard at first until I discovered that you could paste into WordPad!!
And from there you can email which at one time I didn't know. Just click Send and your email program pops up with the image as an attachment all ready to go! Talk about a neat procedure.
I wonder how many other people out there that don't know about this neat method?
It is sent as an attachment!

Since the image goes to Notepad, I can paste it into my Email application, Eudora. It may work in your email app too...
