I don't know if anybody else experience the same thing as I do and I don't know if there is any remedy either. But I find the forum to load very slowly... Not that it loads littel by little but it takes quite a while BEFORE it starts to load. Once it is loading, no problem...
I have 3Mbits/s connection so it's definitely not due to that.
Also, sometimes when I want to quote somebody, the writing space doesn't show up and the loading stops. Then I have to go back and hit the quote button again and then it works. I don't know if I am making sense to you folks now, but hopefully you understand me. |

Just timed it. When replying to my previous post it took like 7 seconds before it started to load the page... I do have cookies allowed and have not cleaned them out for some time so that is not the reason either. |

Took three seconds for the compose window to show up after hitting Reply.
But, sometimes it IS slow loading around here and I don't really think it's the forum. I have experienced this slowness even in clicking the link for our site files and some of our web pages. I think it has to do with Cinerhost more than anything.
I'll experiment a bit more and see if it's gotten worse than what I'm used to seeing.

I'm using dial-up and I not noticing much of a difference. If our host is experiencing problems, that would explain what you are witnessing. Your speed is only as fast as the slowest link. So even if you have a fast connection, if anything along the line is slow, you will still receive the data slower than you would like...
There are some things I still need to figure out that are supposed to be able to speed up the site. I went to one site the other day that was highly customized and the pages popped up almost immediately even though I am on dial-up. But all the other phpBB sites I've visited respond about the same as this one...
I think there is a way to cache all the little images that display on each page in our Community, which is supposed to speed things up quite a bit. I will try to spend some time trying to figure out how to improve the performance of each page display. I've got a lot on my plate right now so I feel like I'm being pulled in multiple directions all at once...

11 seconds to reply to this with the quote! I also think it is the host that has a slow server just like a lot of hosts out there! No problem at all! It's not a matter of life and death and I have the time (seconds!!!!!) to wait!
Don't worry about it. I just wanted to know if anybody else has experienced the same thing.

11 seconds is slow. Since I am used to slow, I probably wouldn't notice the problem as easily as you can. My pages seem to be loading like the always do....
I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving Day too Spider...
