Noticed my site was running slow and now I am getting the following message when trying to access the site.

Code:
phpBB : Critical Error

Could not connect to the database


Is this an sql problem? Someone mentioned the site may have been hacked. Any ideas how to fix it?

Aussie, that usually means a problem with your host's server.  Not anything you can do about it except call them and let them know in case they don't.  Do you have an 800 number for your host's tech support?

Unless you have modified the contents or permissions of your config.php file, this is probably a problem with your Host's database server.  You will need to call them to get them to fix this...

This has happened to RCF on many occasions in the past.  Luckily, I haven't noticed it in a whle, knock on wood...

Yup, I see.  This is your web host's problem.  They may be doing work on the server and it may clear up in a few minutes.  If it doesn't maybe you should call them.

This has happened to us several times.

I sent an email to their emergency line so will have to wait to hear back from them. They are usually pretty quick.

I thought server trouble too but my moderator said no. So I will listen to you two experts  sunny

RB, can't ring them. They are in the US. Too expensive.

Yes, back up and none the worst for wear.   Hey I see two pictures there that would make very good puzzles.  I like the one of the seat in a plane.  Hey that seat looks comfy.

I like the firebomber too but I would have to chop off so much it wouldn't even look a plane anymore.  I will take the piper pacer however.
