You're lucky. I seem to have to login every single day. It's not a big deal, but since I am using autologin, I don't ever want to have to login to RCF. That problem only started after the 2.0.18 Update...

I don't have the log in problem here - the auto log in has worked fine for me here at RCF.
This is a strange problem - seems some have the problem and some don't it differs with each member. I have some members who say they have to log in at Jaddon as the same problem your having here NR. Then others I ask say its fine.
I am having a different problem as well, I will be showing as login but when I go to a different forum or hit send to reply a new post or topic I get booted off my board and have to log in again - some of the other members are having the same problem at my site, but others say they are not having a problem at all.
Both of these problems started at my place when we updated to the 2.0.18 Update as well. |

I'm beginning to wonder if this is a browser specific problem. They might have changed some code in 2.0.18 that works better for some browsers than others. That would be a shame if true...

I use Netscape.
Still don't seem to have problems with the login. I have restarted my PC many times.
The other day there was glitch in the electric in the neighborhood and my PC shut down in the blink of an eye while I was working on it, when it booted back up and I went to RCF I had to login. But my user name and password were displayed and all I had to do was click the Login button.

Maybe a setting in your firewall, NR? Are you running any anti-spam software resident? Dunno if the problem could be in either of those, but might be something to look into.
Free Zone Alarm here, no resident anti-spam stuff, Norton Anti-virus is resident, WinXP Pro, and Firefox. I haven't had to log in, except when you've made changes that messed the cookies. |
