Let's hope they get this fixed soon. Your site can be completely shut down by changing the permissions to your public_html folder to 644. That might be the way to go if this continues for any length of time...

Back to normal now, the Admins have disabled the php function (allow_url_fopen) that
allowed the exploit, please let us know if you experience any further problems.
Just enabled the board and so far appears to be back to normal. I was in a panic before and didn't know if it could be fixed through the ftp somehow but then my moderator told me to email the host after I posted here. Wonder if I should sue them for causing me stress. I was stressed, there's a picture of me below

LOL Yes, you should sue them for mental anguish. I'm sure you will win miillions....
I'm happy to see that your board is back up and running and that there wasn't a direct attack on your site. I hope your host improves its security measures so that this doesn't happen again...

that was a scare! I am glad your site is back and ok!
How can we protect our site from being hacked? Is this only somthing our host can protect us from or is there anything we can do to increase our sercurity? |

In Glenn's case, his host was hacked, so all of their sites were being redirected elsewhere. We have no control over our hosts since we don't host our own sites, so there really isn't much we can do if/when they let their guard down. I couldn't access Glenn's site through his ACP, so I changed the setting to disable his board through MySql-Front. It still redirected to the other site even though his board was disabled. There was nothing Glenn or I could do to stop it...
