This error is so annoying. It comes up atleast 2 times a day. Mostly when viewing videos and sometimes pictures. Is there a cure? Apart from throwing the computer.

If you can find out the manufacturer of your video card, you could probably download and install the latest version for it.  You could probably use programs like Aida32, Sandra, or Belarc to determine the OEM for your video card and perhaps a link to its web site...

You need to get rb over there to work on your PC.  I've heard that she does a hell of a job troubleshooting and correcting PC problems...

You're choice.  I don't think I would tolerate it for long if that happened on my PC...

Next best thing ... go to Device Manager in Control Panel  (Click on System in Control Panel)

Open the Display adapters and click on your adapter and then the Driver tab.  Click on Update Driver. Go through the process and it will probably tell you you have the latest or best driver already and it will ask if you want to reinstall it.  Say yes!  But like Nightrider I think you need a newer driver from the manufacturer's site.   Let us know exactly what card you have and we will help you find it.

I downloaded the program.

MOBILITY M6 [Display adapter]

I'll have a look tomorrow. I'm off to bed. Goodnight.

Good night, Aussie.  Sleep well and don't let the bed bugs bite.

Is that  a notebook you are using Aussie?

Does this sound like the one? Doesn't sound too new, dated July 2002 but still it could be newer than the one you have now.
