Bobby, if Shrink won't make the burn then try your Nero5 to do that now that you have the file on you HDD. ??

Why was Nero rejected here? Nero could have copied the DVD from the original to the blank without a need to save anything to desktop...

Nero was rejected because I got an error message and it would not complete the copying. Spider then suggested that I use DVDShrink instead. Is it likely that the funeral home's DVD was write protected? I found out last night that they were selling copies of the DVD with Bobby's pictures one it for $30. I thougjht that Nero would overcome write- protected DVDs. I have taken the funeral home DVD back to Erma but have the contents copied to my "C" drive. |

Jeez, funerals have gotten so commercial. I guess I wouldn't be surprised if the Funeral Home DVD is write protected. I would hope that wouldn't be the case though...
Nero is sold as commercial software, so I highly doubt that it would be able to overcome write protection. They could be sued for that. If the DVD isn't write protected, Nero should be able to handle it without any problem. You wouldn't even need to copy the files to your HDD either. It will read the DVD, then ask for a blank and copy it back...

These are some of the error messages that I got when trying to copy the DVD using Nero and/or DVD Shrink. Doesn't it appear on one or two of these that it is saying that the original DVD (from the funeral home ) is write protected? Also, even if I have it copied to a folder on my "C" drive it will still be write protected won't it? (In the folder) |

Where is DVD Shrink coming from? Nero isn't giving you those messages is it???
Based on the error message, it would seem that the Funeral DVD is Copy Protected. But if it is Copy Protected, you wouldn't be able to save it to your Desktop either. So I don't really know what's going on without walking through it step by step with you...

Yes I got error messages when using Nero first. I'm not sure but I believe that the first error message was "Burn incomplete. Copy protect error" or something similar. Can I use Nero and go retrieve the folder containing the funeral home DVD pictures. Somehow it got named "The Bear". I think that it happened when I tried to copy my "The Bear" DVD while trying to experiment with copying using Nero. Should I apply my vast knowledge and see if I can navigate my way through Nero and attempt to copy the folder that I have on my HD? |

Can you actually open "The Bear" and view the pictures from your Desktop? If not, it isn't going to be any good once you burn it to DVD...
Also, what version of Nero are you using? I use 5.5.10.54, which was about the last version before they did the rewrite to 6. If you are using the software that came with your DVD burner, it may be a stripped down version too. They do that in hopes that you will buy the full version eventually...
I could probably get the 5.5.10.54 version of Nero to you if need be. It might not be as restrictive as the newer versions are...
