When using another Internet service
When you want to use Outlook to connect to your AT&T Worldnet account when using another Internet service, such as at your office or an airport Internet kiosk, there are special settings you must use.
|
OK, I think this will apply to you even though you don't have any other email address set up in OE because you are connecting to the internet using compquest or whatever it is

The POP and SMTP are the same in the first and second instruction. Did you do the following correctly
In the User Name box, type your e-mail ID. Do not include @worldnet.att.net.
In the Password box, type your password.
Select the Remember password check box.

Peg, try this: Set up a comcast address (account) first and then ADD the at&t.net address as a second account.
I have two different ISP addresses set up in Netscape and they are working fine. But I think your main address has to be set up first.

Yeah, pour me one. A big one!
Peggy, I'm sure you can get a SECOND email address from comcast just for yourself. It won't have any effect on Doug's email
Comcast will have differnt setting than at&t. I'm sure you know that. AFTER your email is set up for comcast (or gte, you're throwing me a bunch of stuff here), THEN set up your at&t.
HOWEVER, both accounts will have the same outgoing = SMTP setting. What every you type in for comcast in the SMTP space will be the same thing you type in for at&t. Mail from both account will be going OUT from the same connection .... ComCast!
Only the incoming POP settings will be different.

Also in case you forget, each account will have a different password.
UNLESS
you choose the same password for your new comcast account as you already have for at&t.
