Should I do this update before adding another mod? I like your today/yesterday mod so I'm going to add it to my board.
May need some help with updating to 2.0.18. Can I use easymod to update this? Which file to I install? |

Once you install the Today At/Yesterday At MOD, I can help you adjust the code so that it displays Yesterday and Today in different colors in each of your templates. The MOD only makes the text bold...
I have yet to successfully install the 2.0.17 to 2.0.18 Update file in my Test board. This is the messiest Update MOD I have seen yet. It may go easier for you though, Glenn. You would want to do this using EM though:
phpBB 2.0.17 to 2.0.18 Update MOD
Just download the Zip file...

I'll do the update first later today with EM. If I get an error I'll give you a shout |

I just ran the 2.0.18 Update on my Test board and it hosed it up so that it wouldn't run at all. I had to restore the backups. They really should have made this into about 8-10 Updates instead of one huge one. I doubt many will be installing this easily...
I may skip this Update. I hope you have a test board to try this on first Glenn...

Can you do that, Blake? Won't the next depend on this one?
They have several options, patches and stuff associated with that MOD, and did you scroll down to read that second post?

Great. I have a hard enough time installing easy things. No I don't have a test board. I'll wait and see. |

Glenn,
I only have twenty MODs, (including EM) - not like the five hundred million they have here and i installed the update with easyMod. If you check the preview box then you can look at each file and see what it'll do before it "mucks up" anything. If you don't get any errors you should be cool. AFAIK. Nightrider- that's right, isn't it?
This was the only error that I had:
Code:
|
Critical Error
FIND FAILED: In file [templates/subSilver/profile_add_body.tpl] could not find:
<textarea name="signature"style="width: 300px" rows="6" cols="30" class="post">{SIGNATURE}</textarea>
|
between "signature" and style there is no space in the find part. My board already had that corrected, so I just took that FIND/REPLACE out of the MOD and everything went smoothly!

I read that if you have mods installed you only add the patch? Is this true? Do I install the full package or the change files only or just the patch or both?
I am scared! |

That helps thanks - I had downloaded the other update - the one before the Halloween release, that one seemed more confusing then this one or maybe I was just to tired at the time I read it. Guess I will give it a try. Hope I dont crash my whole board |
