My mom had one of those old washer/dryer sets where around 40 when they died. Her new dryer only lasted 2 years she was not happy. I don't know the brand she bought but she is on her third since. Things don't last like the use to. |

I agree with mojo. Don't know about washing machines but when shopping for one I found that all dryers only have 1 year warranties. That sucks. I guess they want you to take out extended warranties real bad. I didn't. Maybe should have.....
How you been Chrissy, you don't show up here nearly enough.

You're right, Rosalie, about the built-in obsolescence in this particular day and age. |

My desktop is home built it was either fix and update it or buy a laptop. With the laptop I could sit in the living room with my man and still go online or play my games instead of being in the bedroom alone on the desktop. Laptop won but it did come close to returning it when I saw all the crap I am not use to all the crap store bought comps come with and win 8s first impression was not a good one. Took a few hours to figure out win 8 and remove all the crap. Its better for now still needs some tweaking. |

Can't beat home built. However laptops do have their advantages. I have one but I don't think I could ever use it for my only PC. I love my huge desktop display and the power in the case. Not to mention the full size wireless keyboard and mouse. I have a wireless mouse for my laptop, first thing I purchased when I got it. I can handle the keyboard but that finger pad is not for me.
