Got some EOBs from Insurance company. These are just for the day I went to the ER, haven't gotten anything yet for the Bone and Joint Clinic and the two casts not to mention the removal and therapy to come.

The ER charges for medical, xray, surgery and supplies are $672.00 and $1028.00 and a Dr. Smalling's charges for $1193.00. All this in the space of about 45 minutes. The doctor did the least, he just barked out orders.

Like I said this was just for the ER where they took an xray and stabilized the arm. Something has to be done about these huge medical charges.

And I'm left with a brace until therapy is finished.

RB the arm is looking a lot better bet it feels good to finally get that big cast off. How long is the therapy going to take. Hope its healing well. wave

It's wonderful! I can take this brace off any time I want. Can hardly wait to soak it in hot water tonight when I take a bath. May not even wait until then. LOL The hand and arm is shedding skin like a snake.

Therapy will be twice a week for 6 weeks. 6 weeks in casts and now 6 weeks of therapy for a second of foolishness. Doesn't seem fair somehow...... Crying or Very sad

Yes, a cast is very uncomfortable and I'm happy for you that it's off. Those ER charges were just outlandish! blob8

In our er it's 150 to walk in door
Ask for itemized bill, you can always ask patient advocate for help with bill, sometimes they will just let part if it go if you need help

I have insurance, mojo, I don't have to pay any of the bill but that's what makes insurance so high. The cost is there one way or the other. Supplement Insurance for Medicare getting so high I may have to drop it.
