My brother sent me this link to the latest version of Karen's Replicator:
http://www.karenware.com/powertools/ptreplicator.asp
It's a utility to automate backups to a second hard drive. Since I never did install the utility that came with my external hard drive, I decided to try out this free one. It works well, though each "job" can back up only one folder with or without its subfolders. So I set up a half dozen or more of these jobs. I now have a shortcut on my desktop to run them all at once the next time I do a backup.
I'm still backing up some stuff manually, the folders that I want to keep as separate versions, like the websites, the site statistics, and the update files from clients. The latest version of Replicator lets you add to the folder name on the backup drive (like the date of backup), so you can keep separate versions that way, but I'll do it manually for now.
