I'm on about the links page for the main site which was nothing to do with the forum, I overwritten this with the forums one. I don't have a back up of the file but Karlos who designed the site will. I will just have to wait until he gets back online Brick wall

Do you know the name of the software that this file came from? If so, you might be able to find, download, and retrieve a new copy of the overwritten file...

Karlos has done all the coding for the website stuff himself (I think)

You can't see the website database because you don't have the details for it. The website database is separate to the forum one (which you have access to). If you did have access to the website database you'd see the link tables etc.

I overwrote the links.php using smartFTP though so there's now way of me getting it back now. I'll have to wait for Karlos to come back online so he can replace the file, though he hasn't been online for age’s lol. He hasn't even got round to removing the radio stuff from the djpassion.co.uk homepage which I needed him to do for legal reasons... I’m not sure where he is. Because he isn’t about to do the technical stuff I've had to redirect the djpassion.co.uk index page to the forums to stop the search engines indexing the homepage content violent1

At times I feel like just giving up trying to run websites because something always keeps messing up violent1

Unless he had modified the links.php file, if you know the name of the software that he used for that, you can retrieve a clean copy and get it back up and running rather than having to wait for him to come back online. From the sounds of it, you may have a long wait...

Well I found a links.php file in your cp_old_website.rar archive hoping that would be it. I had to modify a few settings to even get it to work though and now that it's sort of working, it doesn't look right. So I doubt this is the missing file...

It’s like that but that one is for the older site. The new links page completely matched colour wise like the others pages do. Also there was some fancy Ajax flash thing going on with the links too which looked cool

I was hoping that your friend had stored a backup of utility or program on your server so that we could fix it. That doesn't appear to be the case though. Unless we know where this links.php came from, apparently you are at the mercy of your friend logging in and providing a copy of the file. I hope you don't have to wait too long...

I know yes. Well if I don't get hold of the backup file I'll have to some how just setup a links page from scratch, one that will work with the current database for the administration panel. Even if it is a basic links page which I can edit the links from the admin panel it would be better than to not have one at all. I'll see what happens
