The info that says
you have no new messages etc.. see screen shot below. I think all that looks ok up there.
In my right nav bar I added to the who's online box info like "In total there are 3 users online :: 2 Registered, 0 Hidden and 1 Guest" so I could probably remove that from the main panel under the birthdays.
I'd like to reinstall that mod and have the info displayed above where it says "Most users ever online was 51 on 14 Aug 2006 12:11 am :: Our users have posted a total of 10898 articles"

From what I can tell, the only thing extra that you might be getting with that MOD is the Suggested Topic section. So if that is what you were wanting, I can adjust the code so that it doesn't have to try to replace so much of the existing code. In other words, it can be more of a surgical modification...
I am very tired, so I don't know how much longer I'm going to be able to hang on tonight...
