nbsp stands for non blank space.  This simply adds additional spacing between the menu options...

But why

only joking lol Razz

Kidding aside, I wouldn't know where to add them unless I had instructions of where to put them. I mean are they just used for spacing between menu options only or are they used in a lot of things in phpBB too? Just that I don't think I’ve seen them used anywhere else

what does
Code:
;
do as I'm curious as I just seen that it was used to separate the descriptions in the php.ini file I think it was the description anyway

How you remember all these codes and stuff is beyond me  Applause

Yes,   is used for display purposes.  Since spaces are automatically trimmed when the code is parsed, you need something like   to tell the parser to leave space after a displayed element.  You can use the   tag anywhere in your tpl code where you want to add additional spacing.  Most of your menu options have    at the end of the line so that there are two spaces between each menu item...

The semi-colons in your php.ini and php files are like periods on the end of a sentence.  They simply tell the parser that the line (sentence) has ended...

Kewl. I noticed that the home and log out items were slightly out and have just put them in line by using    as before home ended in      and the log out ended in

And it's now put them in place. I was wondering why they was out, I didn't think they could be corrected though, I just thought it was the size of the pics lol  Applause

Although I can't seem to bring the chat item more to the left. I think the space is slightly bigger between  DJ Mixes / Free Mix Hosting and Chat Room

It looks fine to me now.  It looks like you have the correct amount of spacing between each menu option.  You might want to remove the extra spacing at the end of Log Out, Member Websites, and FAQ since it might be pushing the center to the left a bit...
