Yes, that looks much better. So did you attempt to install EM again after making these changes? If so, did you encounter any errors???

Diagnosis
Automation Technique detected!
This is the worst case scenario. EasyMOD does not have permission to either create new files or to replace the old files with the new ones. There are several things you can do:
If you have FTP access, then use the FTP option.
Your server has "safe mode" enabled which means EasyMOD cannot automaticly replace your phpBB files. You might consider using chmod or chown to allow access.
You might consider using chmod to allow access. However, this is not advised in a shared server environment.
Otherwise you will have to download the files and then manually move them into place.
Select One:
I'll try using the FTP option. (requires FTP access)
I have now modified my file permissions, try rescanning to see if EasyMOD has access.
I will have to download the files and manually move them into place
I'd like to select something else. (Advanced Mode)
Where do I go from here? All this just for the birthday mod lol! |

Did you correct all the folder permissions on your forum or only those listed in EM's Debug info page? Make sure that all the folder permissions are set to 755, including the forum folder and it's parent. Then if you changed anything, try the EM install again...

| I'm confident I've changed all access for files and folders and i'm still getting the same message. |

Good Luck with it. Once you have changed all the folder permissions to 755 and all the file permissions to 644, make sure that your forum is still running correctly. Then go ahead and try the EM install again...

With the choice of those options and all my permissions now correct, I went down the route of "I will have to download the files and manually move them into place"
Everything is fine apart from this bit on the final step.
Updating EasyMOD table data
Storing config table entries:
Warning: crypt_ftp_pass(../../../admin/em_includes/em_cipher.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/fhlinux200/n/nickisace.co.uk/user/htdocs/phpBB2/admin/mods/easym od/em_includes/em_functions.php on line 59
The files it talks about are both in place and have permissions right so why isn't it working this time? |

Damn. It's amazing how the install can go so easily on most servers and be so difficult on others...
I'm guessing that if the admin/em_includes/em_cipher.php file is there as you mentioned, then the error message may not be accurate. I have seen this happen when alternate templates have been removed from the templates folder on the FTP Server, but the template was not uninstalled in Styles Admin in the ACP. If this is something that might apply to you, go into your ACP and make sure that all alternate templates that have been removed from your FTP server have been uninstalled in Styles Admin in your ACP. Then try the EM install again...

I have now installed easymod successfully, however when I log into ACP, I have error messages above the left hand side tool bar, when I click on any of the modifications options I get errors then too.
Errors like...
Warning: main(../language/lang_english/lang_easymod.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/fhlinux200/n/nickisace.co.uk/user/htdocs/phpBB2/admin/admin_easy mod.php on line 71 |

I thought maybe files needed to be ftp'd to other places as well, but that hasn't helped at all. I still can't do any mods
If you want access to my ACP just shout and i'll let you. |
