No, the Export tab is where you create a backup of your database and store it on your PC. That is what you have to do if you don't have the Copy option available to you...
The Operations tab doesn't appear on the right in phpMyAdmin until you have selected the database that you want to copy on the left. For us, the Operations tab is to the right of the Import tab...

I'm getting in a pickle, I did it and it said done but no tables were in my test database so I tried it again and it said something already existed. I deleted my test database (but if I try to do another it says there is one )
I created one called testboard and when I tried to restore it I got this...
Argghhh! |

First create the Database in MySql and assign a username with full privileges to it. You can use the same username that you are using for the Live database...
Then for the database name, you have to include the full name. So on your server, the database name would be something like babydreamz_net_-_testboard...
Turn off the Create Database option too...

This is weird!
I thought the name should be that as that's what I called my Market Place database, but when I try to create a new one now I get this message when I type babydreamz_net_-_testboard...
I can just type in testboard but then I don't get the babydreamz_net_- prefix |

In MySql, just create the database testboard. When it is completed, it will probably be something like babydreamz_net_testboard. You should be able to see exactly how it was named when you go to assign the username to it...

OK surprisingly it was my mistake..I was typing babydreamz.net and babydreamz_net
I now have the database but none of the tables are moving over. When I click go I get a done message in the botton left and a white screen. Do I need to give it longer? I'm going straight over to my Test4 database and there are no tables there
Sorry I bet your banging your head NR |

What are you entering for the database name now? It has to be exactly the same as what it shows in MySql...
Click the option to switch to the new database when it is done. That way you will know when the process is complete because it will display a list of the new tables in the new database...

I've tried it as just test4 and I've tried it as babydremz_net_-_test4 and nothing happens either time. I tried doing it using the create database before copying and I get an error message as above.
Actually I'm wondering if I can do it anyway, I only have 300MB left of disc space (out of 1GB) so I don't think I will be able to without buying more space., although I might get rid of my second site to save room. |

You shouldn't have to guess at the name. The full name of the new database that you created should be listed in MySql of your Host CPanel. I tried to go in to see what it is but the link that I have for your CPanel no longer works...
The CREATE DATABASE option for the Copy utility in phpMyAdmin Operations rarely works. That's why you need to create the database first before you copy the Live database to it. But the database name has to be exactly as it is listed in MySql...
300 MB of space should be enough as long as you don't plan on uploading much more to the server. I don't know how much more you have added since the last time I worked on it, but the backup I created of your forum only uses around 11 MB of space on my PC. Chances are it would be compressed on your FTP server and take up less space...
