I've been having problems all day with some images not loading all the way in firefox on my site and blog. They seem to load fine in ie8. Ever have that problem? I deleted all temp files, cookies, history etc but still does it. |

Hey Dave, I googled the problem and got bunch of hits, some going back to 2004 and 2005. Doesn't seem to be any one answer and what worked for some didn't for any others.
Firefox loads images slowly
I don't remember ever having that problem with Firefox but I use Seamonkey mostly these days. When I was having a problem with loading new pages a while back I created a new Profile and that solved it. That is easy to do in Seamonkey but takes a few hoop jumps to do in Firefox. There are instructions on how to do it however.
Other than creating a new Profile I really don't have anything specific to recommend but you might want to post your problem at SillyDog, they have been very good at helping me in the past.

It seems to be working ok today. I also did a search and saw where people had that problem with IE and goggle chrome too. Its probably comcast's fault, lol. I wouldn't be surprised. |

OMG could this be why youtube videos have been stalling out for months and months? I'm trying IE and so far it isn't stalling out at all.
One thing that you have to understand about the Firefox browser is that there are thousands of addons. These addons are not independently checked by Mozilla to make sure they all work together. At times some take up quite a bit of resources causing the browser to slow down. Other times these addons conflict with each other. This is a major source of the slowdown in speed.

Extensions and Addons are usually installed by the user. You can disable or uninstall any and all extensions and/or Addons by going to Tools > Addons, click the extention to highlight it and click either the Disable or Uninstall button. You will have to restart Firefox for the change to take place.

Ya me too. Now I wonder if my router I replaced is still good? I will save it for backup. I also took my new router back and exchanged for a more powerful one, I have a feeling there was nothing wrong with the one I took back.
This problem can be expensive, like the bad 100 stack of memorex DVDS I had problems with, cost me a couple hundred dollars after replacing two dvd burners and buying a duplicator. |
