One of the drivers it said systme didn't meet requirements, the other two installed ok. One ran a system test at reboot. I tried a cd and it went black, had to hard start it again so that didn't help.
In one of my posts that disapeared I mentioned I was using TomTom cd when it started acting up. After looking into tomtom cd I found other people had trouble with it to, it had bugs. But that was the cd when my drive problem got to the point that it wouldn't recognize cds or dvds. After replacing the drives the reboot problem started and when I replaced the drives yet again the black out problem started. It has to be a mb problem, something is going out slowly that connects the optical drives.
I'll just have to live without an optical drive or buy another external or buy a new pc one of these days. At least I have two or three other computers to burn with. |

Dave, I'm sorry nothing seems to be working out. The bright side is you're learning a lot. The dark side is you probably didn't care to learn that stuff! LOL
Anyway, it sounds like you're still set up pretty good in the burning business and you do have that duplicator coming!

I bought a wire adapter so I can use these drives as external dvd burners. I just have to wait for it to come from china. I need to at least be able to put a cd in in case I need to install something. |

Yeah, you're right about needing a functional optical drive on that PC.
Does the adapter have it's own power supply? If not you may still face the same problem as you do with the drive being connected inside the case.
