No, I did it on my own. I also had trouble with 16 and a couple of others. But since it is a logic problem, they can be worked out in a logical, analytical, methodical, and systematic manner. There can only be so many ways to work out the problem, so sometimes brute force is the best way if you cannot see a logical solution right off. There are some things that can only be done one way, so once you solve those, it limits the possibilities for everything else. It simplifies the problem to a point where it can be worked out much more easily...

I wouldn't admit to being smart but I do know that I have a logical mind, which helps to make me appear smart when dealing with logical problems. It's also helps to explain why I was such a good computer programmer. I sure don't have much of a memory though. I would probably be dangerous if I had both logic and memory skills...
